Character Creation

  • Attributes
All Attributes begin play at Campaign Average (almost always d6).
    • These can be modified by reducing one die to d4 in order to increase one to d8
    • For each attribute reduced in this fashion, another attribute can be raised one die type
      • No attribute can be raised above d12 at character creation
  • Talents
Talents are derived from the Attribute Value (AV) associated with the Attributes.
  • Skills
Skills are given a value equal to 0 at Character Creation, which is then modified by its associated Talent.
    • Characters may spend 100 Skill Points at Creation
      • Skills are purchased the same as in Character Development
        • Increasing a Skill costs a number of Skill Points equal to the Skill being reached
      • A Character can not raise a Skill above the associated Talent at Character Creation
        • Athletics (Fitness), for example: If the Character has a 3 Fitness (average) they cannot begin play with an Athletics above 3 (for a TOTAL Skill of 6)
  • Qualities
Each character begins play with a number of Qualities (almost always 5) which describe their character.
    • These Qualities are chosen from the following categories:
    • Trading can only take place upward, in the following manner
      • Special Qualities can be traded for an Aptitude OR a Cosmetic Quality
      • Aptitude Qualities can be traded for a Cosmetic Quality
      • Characters cannot begin play with more than 2 Special Qualities

Characters do not purchase Qualities after Character Creation. Instead, after a number of sessions (5 for fast-play, 10 for moderate-play, 15 for slow-play) the character simply develops a new Quality, as they become better at the things they do or are around.
